The Borreliose Centrum Augsburg (BCA) was founded in July 2006.  The main aim of the BCA is to offer a holistic approach to therapy for chronically ill Lyme disease patients.

We see ourselves as the first medical facility in Germany and Europe, that diagnoses and treats according to the ILADS guidelines (Internation Lyme and Associated Diseases Society - www.ilads.org) and the recommendations of the German Borreliosis Society (www.borreliose-gesellschaft.de):  The BCA offers a wide range of complex diagnostics (intensive anamnesis and special laboratory tests) and a holistic approach to therapy of Lyme disease and possible co-infections.  A second Borreliose Centrum has opened in Blankenburg (North of Germany, Harz Region) in September 2009.  It is called the Borreliose Centrum Blankenburg (BCB - www.b-c-bl.de). 

We are very proud to have the recognition and acceptance of the two largest patient support groups in Germany - "Borreliose und FSME Bund Deutschland" (www.borreliose-bund.de) and "BZK Bundesverband Zeckenkrankheiten e.V." (www.bzk-online.de) - as well as many other patient support groups.  With regards to the challenges, which we take, and the complex diagnosis, holistic approach to therapy for severe illnesses and the difficulties we have with the invoicing with certain health insurance companies, it is well accepted that the cooperating doctors of the Medical Partnership only invoice patients privately on a private medical practice basis.

Our Vision:  We aim to help patient to get over their illness and to fight the Lyme disease - particularly the chronic progression of the disease.  We would like to help patients to regain hope and get well again!  Unfortunately, there is still a big controversy of diagnosis and therapy guidelines and treating according to the guidelines (ILADS).

What makes the Borreliose Centrum Augsburg so unique?

The treatment is only possible on an out-patient basis.
