The Borreliose Centrum Augsburg (BCA) is a medical institution for the treatment of tick-borne diseases, especially Lyme disease (Borreliose) and possible co-infections. The center combines diagnosis, laboratory, therapy and rehabilitation under one roof in a unique way.
In the Morrellstrasse 33 there reside and cooperate under the brandname BCA

The physicians of the Medial Partnership specialised in Lyme disease (borreliosis) take you and your illness seriously and listen to your concerns. They are aware of the fact that tick-borne diseases and co-infections are often misjudged and chronic ill patients are judged to be mentally unstable and seriously depressive. They are responsible for providing all medical services (diagnosis and therapy).
Diagnosis (
Link): The physicians of the Medical Partnership perform a detailed anamnesis and induce special tests (blood analysis) to diagnose Borrelia bacteria and accompanying infections. They are experienced in comparing Lyme-disease with other, similar disease patterns.
Therapies (Link): The BCA and the Medical Partnership are especially orientated towards chronic ill patients (long-term patients). They have special competence in pain therapy as well as in „mental coaching “. Their diagnosis and therapies are holistic according medicine international standards (ILADS / USA). The BCA has gained a lot of attention in Europe as a medical institution of tick-borne diseases and co-infections.
The therapy in the BCA against Lyme disease and its co-infections is based on a holistic approach to therapy and not only reduced to the sheer administration of antibiotics (individual treatment with specific infusions within the range of services offered by the Medical Partnership).
The B-C-A- Borreliose-Centrum-Augsburg GmbH & Co. KG with its four business units allows a broad spectrum of “Accompanying Therapies” (Link) – in addition to the services of the Medical Partnership – up to the offer of an “Intensive treatment and rehabilitation” of chronic ill patients in a day medical clinic. With the help of these accompanying therapies and the micro nutriment therapy (e.g. BCA Immune package) one can achieve amongst others a better tolerance of the antibiotics as well as a higher effectiveness in fighting borrelia bacteria and in pain relief.
Rehabilitation (Link to therapy / Reha): With the help of the holistic medicinal and individually orientated therapy, one activates the body defences for the rehabilitation and strengthening of the immune system. For this purpose the BCA uses therapies of complementary medicine such as traditional Chinese medicine (TCM), homoeopathy and naturopathy.
Our experience: Chronic Lyme disease is curable in > 70% of all cases. In addition to the effect of the pharmaceuticals (antibiotics, normally), the immune system can be strengthened and the borrelia effectively fought with well aimed accompanying therapies and “self-help” (Link) of the persons concerned.
We recommend day medical clinic program Lyme disease “Intensive treatment and rehabilitation” for five days (Mon-Fri) and even longer for chronic ill and long-term patients (Link) (Recommendation: minimum of 2-3 weeks up to 4 months). The therapists support and coach you in all aspects of the normally necessary change of lifestyle (mentally/activity/nutrition). If you cannot spare the time for a long term treatment in the BCA, we will introduce you to the therapies and will instruct your attending doctor at home for the continuity of the treatments.
Please note: according to patient’s wish and in case of specific indications (e.g. intolerance of antibiotics, etc.) alternative medicinal therapy can be offered instead of usual antibiotic treatment.

The Borreliose Centrum Augsburg was founded in July 2006 by two medical doctors, Dr. med. Carsten Nicolaus and Dr. med. Armin Schwarzbach. Both of them have specialised in tick-borne diseases for many years: the medical specialist in laboratory medicine Dr. Schwarzbach in all fields of diagnosis and the general practitioner Dr. Nicolaus as a therapist. Today the team of the Medical Partnership consists of nine experienced physicians. Our patients also come from other European countries (including Scandinavia), Russia, USA and Canada.
Tick-borne ilnesses (Lyme disease in form of bacteria and FMSE in form of a virus) have increased profoundly for years.
The typical symptoms of the Lyme disease, like in thrusts appearing neck and shoulder pains, occasional headaches and dizziness, changing and wandering pain in the joints, accumulate and become a real „nightmare“ for more and more people.
